About the definitely Connected Initiative
Definitely Connected is Summit Speech School’s statewide initiative designed to help deaf and hard of hearing students who use hearing technology build positive identity, confidence, and community. Through shared experiences, peer connections, and family engagement, students discover that they are not alone—and that their hearing technology is a source of empowerment, not limitation.
The initiative includes:
- Family events across New Jersey
- Peer groups for students
- Opportunities to meet other children who use hearing aids, cochlear implants, and bone‑anchored devices
- Activities that celebrate communication, self‑advocacy, and belonging
Our goal is to create spaces where students feel understood, supported, and proud of who they are.
