Our Background
Summit Speech School, located in New Providence, New Jersey, was founded in 1967. The school is one of only 51 private oral/OPTION schools in the country and the first in New Jersey teaching children who are deaf and hard of hearing to listen and talk without the use of sign language. Our school provides specialized services to children from birth to age 3 through Early Intervention, to Preschoolers at our program in New Providence and to students from preschool through high school in districts all over New Jersey. Students using hearing aids, cochlear implants, BAHAs and FM/DM systems benefit from instruction by Teachers of the Deaf providing intervention to develop listening and spoken language success.
